Description | Materials in and about Wa'ikhana, an endangered language from the Eastern Tukanoan family. Wa'ikhana is spoken in the Upper Rio Negro region, in Brazil and Colombia. The materials were collected from April 21 to May 16, 2018 and from January 25 to February 7, 2020, in the town of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas state, Brazil. The fieldwork in 2018 was part of the project "Grammar and multilingual practices through the lens of everyday interaction in two endangered languages in the East Tukano family", funded by NSF (Grant number BCS-1664348) and coordinated by Kristine Stenzel (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro).
