| Description | Jain Orr collected all audio files at Dr. Joel Sherzer’s house during the spring semester of 2017. The files range in duration from 7 minutes to 120 minutes. The files are labeled according to the dates they were collected in the format YYYYMMDD_#. The "#" symbol represents the order of each file if more than one audio file exists for the same session. Earlier recordings used a Zoom h4n audio recorder with the voice memo app of the iPhone 6 acting as a backup. The Zoom recorder was the preferred method because it creates WAV format files automatically and leads to better audio quality. Later recorders relied on only the voice memo app because it was logistically easier to upload the files to Google Drive, convert them from M4A format to WAV using CloudConvert, and then transfer them to UT Box for AILLA staff to access. The Zoom recorder was difficult to manage because of issues with the memory card and battery caused a loss of information. |
