| Description | This bundle consist of five texts that were cut from one recording: 1) Señor Andres describes the kinds of work he used to do with his father: The planting of corn, beans, tubers, sugarcane, chiles and bananas. He also describes how people lived before, 2) Andres describes his life as a musician, when he began music classes; he talks about some of his classmates. He also speaks about the war that took place in the 1950s, 3) outlines some of the places where he went to play music and how he went to Oaxaca City to play for the government, 4) more discussion of his life as a musician - when he began to practice with his bandmates, when he used to play in religious ceremonies, and how he used to play with a band from San Gabriel Mixtepec, 5) describes how he used to play with the community band as a type of community work or 'cargo'. |
